Active bioinspired systems
We are investigating the assembly of active soft compartments to mimic cell-like structures.

We use external actuation mechanisms (electric fields, light and chemical gradients) to design nonequilibrium processes reminiscent of a biological cell, using giant unilamellar vesicles and colloidal particles as model systems. This includes: motility, division, membrane fluctuations and endocytosis.
The projects funded by Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR), Frontiers of Life and France-Berkeley Fund.
